Word Up

Here is an article describing a new product that involves incorporating rap music into teaching. This type of teaching would have a dramatic effect on how a student processes the content and how they score on the FCATs!! For all interested, here is the website: http://smallbusiness.aol.com/article/_a/how-flocabulary-a-study-guide-publisher/20090610170709990001. This is very exciting material!!

Brain Based Research

I am very excited of the recent research of Brain Based Education. This is research that is considered to be "in it's infancy" by some standards. Some of the components of Brain Based Education include nutritious eating and incorporating exercise, as well as reading. I have worked with children with autism as well as people with alzheimer's disease. I find the brain to be a fascinating subject. As an educator, I believe that the more knowledge that I gain on the subject, the more effective that I will be with my students. I would be grateful for any and all input. If anyone can share any information such as articles or personal knowledge and experience, I would love to hear from you.
